About RUNMAKER
Running routes for groups who start together, run different distances, and meet again.
The problem it solves
Group runs fall apart when one person wants 5 km, another 8 km, and someone else 12 km. Usually the group either splits up at the start or the faster runners loop around waiting. RUNMAKER builds a route family: everyone leaves from the same START, shares as much of the course as practical, splits off to finish their own target distance, and arrives at the same FINISH.
How it works
- Pick a start. Use your current location, search for a place, or tap the map.
- Add runners and distances. Set how many people are running and each person's target distance (1–30 km).
- Choose the finish. Return to the start as a loop, or pick a different finish point.
- Build. RUNMAKER queries pedestrian routing data, generates candidate loops for each distance, scores them for how much of the course is shared, and keeps every runner within about ±5% of their target.
- Review and share. The result screen shows the shared distance, each runner's actual distance, and any warnings. Name the route to keep it in My Routes, or copy the link to open the same route on anyone else's phone.
Three ways to create a route
| Mode | Best for | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Auto | Groups with different distance goals | Enter distances; routes are generated for you. |
| Pins | A course you already have in mind | Drop waypoints on the map; the path snaps to walkable roads and shows the real distance. |
| Draw | Sketching a shape quickly | Draw freehand on the map; the line is corrected onto pedestrian paths. |
Where the map data comes from
Routes are computed on top of open pedestrian map data. That data is good at finding walkable connections but it does not know about today's construction, traffic, lighting, or surface condition. Every result flags things like major road crossings, stairs, and steep sections when they can be detected, and the app asks you to check the course before running it. Treat the route as a plan, not a guarantee.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work outside Korea?
Yes. The routing data is global, and the interface is available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Spanish.
Do I need an account?
No. Routes you name are stored in your own browser under My Routes. Nothing is uploaded to a server just to save a route.
Why is a runner's distance slightly off target?
Real streets don't come in exact lengths. RUNMAKER aims for within ±5% of the target and shows the actual distance so you can adjust before you go.
Is it free?
Yes. RUNMAKER is free to use and may show a single ad on the result screen to cover map and routing costs. See the privacy policy for how that works.
